IM Motors is a premium electric vehicle brand born in China from a joint venture led by SAIC Motor with Alibaba Group and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech. The brand was launched to challenge legacy and new players in the EV space with intelligent, high-end cars grounded in innovation and user experience.

The directive was simple but brutal: create a brand identity that was simple, memorable and expressive of a deeply personal experience tied to mobility.

Naming and Visual Identity

We anchored the brand in the concept of I AM — a lens that positions each vehicle as a personal space where driving or being driven becomes something comfortable, modern, and distinctly individual. From that idea we shaped the name and visual identity, abstracting it into a minimal yet strong symbol that radiates clarity and presence. This wasn’t surface decoration. It was strategic identity design aligned with brand meaning.

Extending the System Everywhere

Brand doesn’t stop at a logo. We built a full visual system that lives across product interfaces, apps, dashboards, HUDs and more. Every touchpoint reinforces the brand idea consistently and powerfully, giving IM a cohesive presence from real world to digital. What started as naming and symbol design became a broad, flexible identity system built to support a young brand with a genuinely bright future.
